Fortunately Audi has opted against a go-kart like ride quality with decent compliance from the suspension, at the expense of some noticeable body lean when cornering. But it is a good trade-off, the Q2 feels comfortable enough to live with everyday but is fun to drive on the open road and easy to navigate through city traffic. The 1.4 TFSI engine is good for 110kW of power and 250Nm of torque and feels well suited to the Q2. It isn't what you'd call a 'quick' car but it has more than enough performance to get moving at a respectable pace.

There is good response from down low in the rev range and there is plenty of mid-range punch when you want a burst of acceleration.  Design played a major role for the Q2 with Audi opting for a bolder, edgier look for its smallest SUV compared to its larger siblings. The polygon shape is an exclusive design element for the car and can be seen from the grille and across the heavily sculpted flanks. The exterior design also includes an R8-style 'side blade' on the side-rear windscreen pillar that can be finished in grey or silver (depending on specification) to give it another unique styling element.Inside, the Q2 lives up to Audi's usual high standards. The design carries over the exterior blend of current Audi styling but with an edgier twist.
