Adjusted events and outcomes for Toyota : The year 1980 saw a major transformation in the automotive industry. For the first time, Japan has overtaken the United States to become the world's largest car manufacturer. Toyota, which became the second largest factory after General Motors of America, joined forces with its rival in 1984 to set up new production units in Lexin, Kentucky.

It was represented in the Lexus branch, specializing in luxury cars, which began in 1989. It also included the T100 transport car, which was later redesigned to become a Tundra, and its four-wheel drive vehicles, such as the 4Runner and Highlander, and the sporty Camry model, the Camry Solara. It also began in 1997 with the production of the world's first and best-selling hybrid car, Prius.
This was followed by the opening of the Sayon branch in 2002, which includes several
