Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani, a cultural pioneer, has committed his passion for collecting artifacts and memorabilia to developing and sharing a new cultural heritage for Qatar and beyond.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani was born in Doha in 1948 and is a cultural pioneer. His enthusiasm for collecting antiques and mementos has always been inextricably linked to his voracious desire for travel. Sheikh Faisal has attended museums of all types throughout his boyhood, courtesy of his father's encouragement and assistance.

Each piece in his collection reflects his quest for new discoveries and his desire for distinctive and eclectic objects to link with Qatari and Islamic history.

Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani was named a ‘Heritage Personality' by the Arab Center for Tourism Media in 2012. The prize recognized his proactive involvement in fostering Arab heritage preservation.

With artwork from four continents, the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum is located outside of the city in a traditional style fort at Al Samriya Farm. These unique artifacts depict the tale of the museum's founder, Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim, and humanity.
