1,300 cataract operations and 2,300 examination cases conducted by the Qatar Red Crescent within the “Ibsar” initiative in Afghanistan, with a full sense of humanitarian responsibility towards blindness that affects residents in remote areas. The project includes medical examinations and surgeries to remove cataracts and dispense medicines and Free glasses, so that cataracts are a major cause of blindness, and there are waiting lists of 200 cases, in each of the 6 states (Kuner, Laghman, Paktia, Bamyan, Ghor and Kunduz).
